Lisa Lillien, Hungry Girl, was so "obsessed with foods that taste great but don't pack on the pounds" that she started a very popular recipe website called Hungry Girl. Between the success of that website and requests from her readers, Lisa decided to write this cookbook.

A Low Fat / Low Calorie Cookbook

If you're looking for a low fat, low calorie recipe book, this cookbook is for you. Recipes high in fiber are an additional health benefit to be found. Plus, as an extra added bonus, many of the recipes contain very few ingredients, which makes them quick and easy to make.

Personal Favorites from the Cookbook

There are little tidbits of fun and thought-provoking information spread throughout the entire cookbook. I learned that it wasn't the food on my latest cruise that made me gain 5 pounds. It was the 650 calories and 20 grams of fat in each of those piña coladas I enjoyed. Did you know it would take an hour and one-half of me battling seaweed and jellyfish in the ocean to burn just one piña colada off?

The Survival Guides are another thing I just love about this cookbook. I learned how to better survive my next cruise on the page aptly named "Cruise Control." In the section called "Hit the Road, Jack!" (for surviving road trips, of course) I learned you could get reduced-calorie Slurpees. She's also got restaurant survival guides such as ones for Italian and Mexican cuisine.
