Christmas Candy Cookies

Christmas Candy Cookies have red and green candy-coated chocolate pieces.

Cook Time: 18 minutes

Total Time: 38 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
  • 1 cup chopped almonds, lightly toasted
  • 8 ounce package red and green candy-coated chocolate pieces

Preparation:

Cream butter, sugars and oil. Add eggs and almond extract - mix well. Beat in the baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Gradually add the flour and whole wheat flour. Stir in almonds and the chocolate pieces. Shape into 1" balls, roll in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a flat-bottomed glass. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 - 18 minutes or until lightly browned and cool on wire racks. Yield: about 8 dozen.
