Here are several hearty recipes made with oatmeal. Oatmeal, also known as oats or rolled oats, has long had the claim as a Super Food.

There are a couple of reasons my family and I just love this recipe. First of all, it's the perfect company dish. Guests are always amazed when I serve them this recipe for Baked Oatmeal on a cold morning. Secondly, this is a recipe with some versatility. Oatmeal Bread, a heavy bread, is outstanding when it's either served warm from the oven or toasted with peanut butter on it. This is one of the breads my dad used to make for me.

There is nothing like homemade granola. It can be used dry as a snack, in a bowl with milk for cereal or baked to make bars.

Although, you can make these Oatmeal Cookies into regular drop cookies, I prefer making them into bar cookies. They are better than any store-bought breakfast bar.

This is one of the simplest desserts you can make. This Apple Crisp is made with layered apples topped with an oatmeal/spice and butter mixture.

I always thought that flapjacks were pancakes. Not in England they're not. These English Flapjacks are kind of a bar cookie that is made with three kinds of oats.
