I have fond memories of traveling with my mom and dad. A roadtrip didn't go by without stopping at a roadside stand to buy warm boiled peanuts. These days I make them at home in the crockpot. I've even served them for an appetizer. Everyone just loved the special treat.
Wash peanuts until water runs clear. Put nuts in crockpot. Add salt and water. Stir well. Cover and cook on high for 5 to 7 hours. If necessary, add additional water to keep peanuts covered.
*The peanuts will get saltier the longer they sit in their cooking liquid. In fact, I store mine in the liquid in the refrigerator. We love to eat them hot or cold.
