In a large bowl, mix together 2-2/3 cups flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Chill in the fridge. Also place 1 cup shortening and 3/4 cup cold water in fridge. Once chilled, take all out of fridge.
With a pastry blender, a food processor or two knives in scissors fashion, mix flour mixture and shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs.
